I still remember that these notes was bought in pair at March 2009 with consecutive series number which were 440978 and 440979. The 440978 was owned by Mrs NWC and the latter in owned by me. We bought with a great offer prices which around RM300 pair, that was why we deal with seller without any more negotiation.
This One Dollar note was issued at 1959 with the signature of Malaya First Finance Minister, Tun Lee Hau Shik. At that time, we were using the "region money" means the monetary notes was circulated also at the British Settlement regions which were not independence yet which were Singapore, Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei.

Although these notes bear the date 1 March 1959, they were not released to the public until 1 June 1959. They were printed by Waterlows & Sons, and Thomas De La Rue on paper that incorporated a broken gold security thread on the right and a Malayan tiger's head watermark in centre.
